Zoom help — Meet Gesty

Meet Gesty can create a Zoom meeting for every booking made on one of your booking links, so your guest gets a join link the moment they book. This page explains how to connect your Zoom account, what Meet Gesty does with it, how to remove the connection, and what to do when something doesn't work. Anything we don't cover here: email support@gesty.ai.

Connect Zoom

You can connect from two places. Both do the same thing:

  • In the app: open Settings Zoom and tap Connect.
  • On the web: sign in at gesty.ai/meet/zoom and press Connect Zoom.

Either way you land on Zoom's own sign-in and authorization screen. Authorize with the Zoom account you'll actually host on — meetings are created in that account and that's where they'll show up. If your browser is signed in to several Zoom accounts, check the email shown on Zoom's screen before you approve.

Meet Gesty asks Zoom for three permissions — and only these three:

  • Create a meeting — so a meeting can be created when someone books you.
  • Delete a meeting — so that meeting is removed when the booking is cancelled.
  • Read your own profile — your Zoom email, user ID and account type (free or paid). We use it to show “Connected as …” and to warn you about the 40-minute limit on free accounts.

Meet Gesty cannot see your other meetings, recordings, chat, contacts or anything else in your Zoom account. The access token Zoom issues is stored encrypted on our servers and is used only for the three actions above. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

One Zoom account can be connected to one Meet Gesty account at a time — see Troubleshooting if that catches you out.

How it works

  • Open the booking link you want to use and turn on Generate Zoom link. It's a per-link setting, so you can use Zoom on some links and not others.
  • When a guest books a time on that link, Meet Gesty creates a new Zoom meeting in your Zoom account for that booking. Every booking gets its own meeting — nothing is reused between guests.
  • The join link and passcode are shown to your guest and saved on the booking, so both of you can find them later.
  • When the booking is cancelled, Meet Gesty deletes that meeting from your Zoom account.
  • Free Zoom accounts: Zoom ends meetings after 40 minutes. Meet Gesty reminds you of this when you connect a free account. That limit is Zoom's, not ours — if your sessions run longer, upgrade your Zoom plan or connect a paid Zoom account.

Remove Meet Gesty from Zoom

You can remove the connection at any time, from either side. Both ways have the same result.

  • From Meet Gesty: Settings ZoomDisconnect in the app, or Disconnect Zoom on gesty.ai/meet/zoom. Meet Gesty revokes its access token with Zoom and deletes its own copy immediately.
  • From Zoom: sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace, open ManageAdded Apps, find Meet Gesty and choose Remove. Zoom tells Meet Gesty that you removed the app, and Meet Gesty deletes the connection the same way — right away.

What happens to your data when you remove Meet Gesty:

  • The access token, refresh token, Zoom email, user ID and account type that Meet Gesty held for the connection are deleted immediately. There is no waiting period, and Meet Gesty keeps no copy. Reconnecting later starts a fresh authorization.
  • Meetings that were already created stay in your Zoom account. Removing Meet Gesty does not delete them — if you want them gone, delete them in Zoom.
  • New bookings stop getting a Zoom link.
  • If you later cancel a booking that still has a Zoom meeting, Meet Gesty can no longer delete that meeting for you. The booking shows meeting deletion pending — reconnect Zoom and press Retry, or delete the meeting in Zoom yourself.
  • Removing Meet Gesty from Zoom does not delete your Meet Gesty account or your bookings. To delete your account, see the Support page.

Troubleshooting

  • Connecting fails, or you bounce back without being connected. Make sure you approved the permissions on Zoom's screen — if you cancel or decline there, nothing gets connected. Try again from SettingsZoom (or gesty.ai/meet/zoom). On the web, check you're signed in to Meet Gesty and to the Zoom account you mean to use. Still failing? Email us the approximate time and the Zoom account's email.
  • Settings says “connect again”. A Zoom account can be linked to only one Meet Gesty account at a time. If the same Zoom account was connected from another Meet Gesty account (yours or a colleague's), that newer connection replaced this one. Decide which Meet Gesty account should own the Zoom account and connect from there — the other one will need a different Zoom account. You'll see the same message if Meet Gesty was removed inside Zoom's App Marketplace; just connect again.
  • You cancelled a booking and it shows “meeting deletion pending”. Zoom was disconnected (or Meet Gesty was removed in Zoom) before the cancellation, so the meeting couldn't be deleted. Reconnect Zoom, then press Retry on the booking at gesty.ai/meet/zoom — or delete the meeting directly in Zoom.
  • Your guest didn't get a Zoom link. Open the booking link they used and check that Generate Zoom link is on — it's set per link, and a booking made while it was off does not get a meeting afterwards. Turn it on for future bookings; for a booking that already exists, create the meeting in Zoom and send the link to your guest yourself. Also check SettingsZoom still shows “Connected as …” — if it offers Connect instead, the connection was removed and no meeting was created.
  • Meetings cut off after 40 minutes. That's Zoom's limit for free accounts. Upgrade in Zoom, or disconnect and reconnect with a paid Zoom account.

Still stuck?

Email support@gesty.ai with the approximate date and time, the email you sign in to Meet Gesty with, and the email of the Zoom account. That's usually enough for us to find it.
